Mess and diversity

I have a theory that the reason why some organisations struggle with equal opportunities and diversity far more than others is down to their comfort with mess.

In my view, the World is a messy place, full of unique, awkward & quirky people making what appear to be random decisions. People being different (from each other, from themselves the previous day or from the ‘norm’) is what makes the world revolve and evolve.

This also means that the world will never be square, ordered or uniform – it will continue to be round, haphazard and diverse.
